Things You Can't Get Back

Time does fly so fast. Or in my experience, your perception would probably depend on many different things. Substances may alter how you perceive events to happen. Life experiences could be another one.

It just seems like yesterday when I was seeing a first cousin get married there in the Cathedral. It was like half a day ago that we were drunk when I slept in the bathroom floor for a bit. It feels like it was just almost a year ago when I heard the violin rendition of "I Dare You to Move" in our elementary school graduation. 

Gambling

A player hoping to make money in a casino isn't any different from another only seeking to amuse himself - they're both gambling. We all have our own biases, and it's too bad that human emotion, while malleable, would always be at play round the clock. 

In Two Decades..

Unless there would be a scientific or technological breakthrough of some sort, we would all probably be dead in a hundred fifty years or so. 

Our posterity would be talking about their ancestors - us and those who have gone before us, the same way we are talking about the departed. We could easily become names etched on a piece of stone, often with a few words fondly dedicated to conjure the possibility of a happy memory.

Or we could leave a legacy of some sort, considering a single life is what we all have to live - at this moment, at least. All before we become just another addition to a statistic.

Huwag mong ipagsiksikan ang sarili mo sa mga bagay na alam mo naman na mahihirapan ka. Maraming paraan para lusutan ang mga problema. Bakit ka sasakay sa MRT at sasabak sa kalakalan ng pawis at tulakan kung pwede ka naman mag FX? At talagang minsan, masarap lang gumala, lalo na kung ang dayo mo'y masarap na pagkain. Mabubusog ang tao, at medyo mabubutas ang wallet.

Nakakainip maghintay. Lalo na sa mga bagay na alam mo naman na baka di naman darating. O kaya yung mga bagay na di pala para sayo. Or maybe it's just sitting right in front of you. Free cut pala, nakalagay na nga sa blackboard. 

Vain Hope

Mahirap umasa. Pero di mo maiiwasan na may mga tao talaga na nagpapahiwatig ng mga bagay na wala naman palang kakahinatnan. The hardest part is confronting disappointment after realizing that your efforts were in vain.
